World Energy won the Jang Yeong-sil Award with an absorption chiller IR52 for ships
World Energy will receive the IR52 Jang Yeong-sil Award in January this year. The IR52 Jang Yeong-sil Award is granted to persons in charge of technological development working for domestic companies and research institutes which took the initiative in innovating industrial technology through developing and commercializing new technology products.
Most ships have used electric chillers to cool cabins, but ‘A’ has reduced energy expenses by about 20~30% compared with the existing electric chillers through using waste heat generated from ship engines. In addition, the company has developed eco-friendly Absorption chillers using a natural refrigerant, water.
